It’s so easy to sail through a sea of green flags, but even a single red flag can weigh you down like an anchor, pulling you under until you’re gasping for air, stuck in peace.
All you see is water, all you see is blue, until that one moment when all you breathe is water, and all you need is air. Would you rise, or sink deeper?
All I need is love, and all I have is you, your touch, your flowers, that breakfast every day.
But then there’s that one day where I have to magnify your love because it’s hard to laugh with you.
All I need is a little water, air, and love to swim back to you. Babe, would you pull me back out?
Stuck in peace, would you have the strength to cut loose before it’s too late? Should I have the strength to fight the water, or would it drown me? Will I gasp for air anyway?
Shouldn’t there be a better reason to hold my breath, when you hold me and calm me down?
As someone once said, “there’s beauty in the ruins of us.”
All I need is a little water, air, and love to swim back to you, would you please help me by helping us instead?
